I just finished watching a movie about the British painter, Francis Bacon. A painter who has inspired me since I came across his work in my first years in my art schooling. The subject matter has always held my attention and I think a project coming up is going to be an homage to this man. I’ll post that as it progresses. Below is a documentary about Mr. Bacon in 6 parts. Please enjoy it as much as I do.
It is four o’clock and I’m settling in for the lanche game, but apparently they can’t figure out how to show video of the game so now it is being “broadcast” ala AM radio style. I’m still working on some tweeks with the “new” blog layout, but thought that I’d post some shizzle as I find it just because I can. Enjoy.
I found this on the Saigon Market Collective site. Pretty sweet, I must say.

I’m up early on a saturday, as per usual. Did you know that you can watch Uncle Buck for free in HD if you have comcast? Me neither, until this morning. Not a bad way to start out the day.
I’ve recently purchased this book via the tattered cover bookstore. It was done by the Canadian artist, Pascal Blanchet and is quite amazing. Hopefully Drawn and Quarterly will put out more work like this out here shortly. Let’s keep our back bacon crossed.
This weekend shall be spent brainstorming some idears for some new work on my part. I’ll post any progress that occurs at the end of the weekend. Until then, courage.

So, I’ve participated in a pre-pre sale of the first round playoff tickets for the lanche. I’m amped, that is if they stick it out.

Halfway through another week and I’ve managed to pull off some illustration work in the past few days. Looks like I might have found some creative bran for my artist block. More to come with this as I’ve got a magazine submission which is due no later than friday, so I’ll be staying up past my recent bedtime of 8:30 to crank this baby out.
I’ve also been entertaining the idea of beefing up beendeleted.com too. It most likely wouldn’t be a full on redesign, but just some face work. More on this soon.
That is all for now, time to ready to power through another day of the race and then it is back here for illustration work and hockey. Until next time.
Josh Cochrane is an illustrator that I found on the interwebs this morning. I’m liking the technique and colors that are used throughout his pieces. Check out the work.

Here it is easter weekend and after watching another highly upsetting performance by the lanche. I don’t think that I’m really programmed to follow sports like this. Old age has “readjusted” my recreation in some aspects, but in certain moments of clarity I realize that maybe I should not try to force the new “hobbies” that might want to replace me previous conquests of entertainment. I think I’m working on a thought. Maybe I should stop.
I’ve recently purchased this book and have just gotten through the first couple of pages, but so far it is pretty interesting. Though I’m not officially a newbie in the field, it is always good to get as many perspectives on other people’s experiences to gain focus on your own. Me thinks this shall be an interesting read.
We’re currently in the land of Wyoming for a 24hr and some change trip. I’m sure I’ll have some photos for the ol ‘flickr page here shortly. Stay tuned. I’m going to sign off for das’ evening.

I’ve decided to pause on my illustration work for the evening to write a quick post. Above is another piece that I’ve been working on. Eventually it will be a series, loosely based on some literature that I’ve always found a bit interesting since I was in grade number four. More to come with this. It will be in my portfolio.
I’m currently working on even more things that I’ll most likely post here shortly as the deadline is a weekend from tomorrow. Hopefully I can get my shit together in time.
Fin.

I’ve mentioned this artist before in my design:related profile, but he has posted even more work on the ol’ blog. The subject matter, colors, strokes, etc. are great! Check it out.
