I’ve survived it to the weekend and have a game to watch esta noche, so that is good. The only bad thing is that the beginning of another work week is around the corner. Wow, maybe I should switch to being a goth. Yeepers, ok it is never time for that.
Over the past week, I’ve gotten some ideas for some upcoming pieces. I also have some freelance projects that are in the works as well as gearing up for some polishing of the ol’ site. More to come on this in the very near future.
That is all for now. Until the next time, remember….it takes a big man to cry, it takes an even bigger man to laugh at that man.
Bright and early thursday morning, and I just read where DON CABALLERO is going into the studio to work on an album that is most likely going to see the light of day this fall. According to the band, it shall be “the best “Caballero” yet, all clichés detonated.
This morning I’ve had a few ideas pop into my head for some illustration work. Also, I’m planning on a good polishing over of beendeleted.com. Stay tuned for that.
Well, time to take Ike out for one more run before the work day ensues. Tonight, game 5….keep your fingers crossed.
Well, I’ve posted some photos from our trip to game four of the first round of the playoffs. It was an awesome game and my wife and I had a good time. As you can see, we even ran into a “painter”. We were excited too. Needless to say, I’m pretty into hockey at this point in time. In fact, as I was listening to NHL live today, they mentioned the HOCKEY FALLS commercials from a few years back which made me check youtube to see if they had them, on of course they did. Anycrap, here they are and I swear I’ll go back to posting my artsy links here shortly, it might be sooner than later depending on the playoffs. We’ll see. Read the rest of this entry »
I wonder if you get bragging rights for inventing new penalties in hockey?
It’s been a long long day and there is still one more period of hockey left tonight. So, I’m going to throw some water into a glass, clear the ol’ head from the days happenings, enjoy hockey, sleep, go to work until noon and then prepare for attending game 4 tomorrow night.
We’ve returned from Wyoming and didn’t have to brave too sketchy of conditions to make the trip as we caught the tale end of the snow storm on the way up and had a balmy 26 degree morning in Laramie today and had dry roads back to casa de la delete.
After the trip, I’m now a firm believer that Courtney and myself might have been holding back Laramie from any sort of development as since our departure in July of two years ago, the campus of UW had a handful less of brand new buildings going up, not to mention all of the hotels and other franchises that have made their way into the town. Is there really that many people needing lodging when in Laramie? Is the territorial prison that big of a draw? Anyhoozit, it is weird, but nevertheless, the truck load of hicks putting each other in headlocks and making me really despise Toby Keith and country music even more, certainly made our departure a bit easier. I guess this is why when I hear folks humming “dueling banjos” when they find out that I was raised in Wyoming, it infuriates me to no end. Not that I’m defending the population of state, there are obviously some people like around, but close minded folks are everywhere and for me, both mindsets really fall into the same category, and another thing, what’s the deal with airplane food? Anyways…that has been the weekend.
I’m counting down the time before game 4 of the lanche’s playoffs. The wife believes that I have a problem with all of the hockey that I’m watching. I’m starting to think that she is probably correct. I saw a bumper sticker on the road this weekend that read “SAVE QUEBEC”, if anyone knows where I might be able to find said bumper sticker, a hug and a high five is awaiting you.
I’m sad that Grandaddy sold their song to Dodge and I’m sure all enjoyment of the song will be sucked out of it as they play it on every channel that I seem to come across. Oh the pain of popular music and advertising these days.
Here are some random videos on hockey, politics, etc.
After taking Ike out for the last time before heading for the grind, I came across a five dollar bill. Not a bad way to start out a friday. Also, our playoff tickets were in the mail. Still no Alarm Mag though? I wonder if I shall contact to see if it was lost via the postal service. Well, another friday to weather, wish me luck.
Bringing some DEP for a thursday evening for youse. You’re welcome. Josef gets restless when snowed in and grumpy. At least hockey is back on tomorrow and it tis’ the weekend. I believe I’ll be working some more on this sketch before heading to bed. Until the next time…..to quote Riki R. Keep one foot in the gutter and one fist in the gold. Gooda night.
I’m awaiting the overtime period to begin and noticed this video, the delete is down with the Boards of Canada. That is all, I have my fingers crossed.
*update: fingers being crossed does work from time to time.
Above is the Battles video that I spoke of in my previous entry. Great band, great if you can catch them live as well. You should probably listen to more of their stuff.
Tonight starts the playoffs. After a night of getting our dog back into a healthy state instead of the sickly state that we found him when we returned home last night, I’m looking forward to having a relaxing night of watching game one on our telly instead of following a vomiting dog. I would think most people would prefer that. Also, I’ve decided to boycott the Denver Post as Adrian Dater, the writer who follows the lanche, is Fox News annoying and frankly I can’t stand reading the shit that he comes up with. What is wrong with me? Do I really read up on sports now? Shit!
I can’t wait until the end of the season so I can get back to being the non-jocko Josef my wife married. Until the next time, courage.
After a 4.30 wake up this morning, I’m up typing on this thing. Wow, I should look into becoming a farmer, I think that the hours would fit me pretty well. It is good to have options.
I’ve double checked my iPOD this morning to ensure that the two new albums that I purchased a few days ago made the transfer. The train ride and work day should be a bit more varied in my playlist as well the book that I’m reading. Yesterday I completed, Invisible Monsters and now it is onto Choke.
Hopefully my new issue of ALARM magazine will show up today. I noticed the cover at the Tattered Cover, but didn’t pick it up as I now have a subscription to it. Tis’ a damn fine publication.
