TGI “Drive Like Jehu” FFF! The extra F is for a curse and the other is a typo. Anyways, the day started at 5:30 am and after walking the Smuckers it is now down to work. I’ve got an agenda today, formulating blog posts for a sweet magazine, client follow ups and then back on the illustration horse. Doesn’t seem like a shabby Friday by any means.

This shall be an abbreviated entry as I think I blasted my inspiration on the past few posts by letting more air of the balloon than I should have. Updates to come on projects and such. Be well and remember until next time…COURAGE.

It is Saturday evening here at the Deleted Inc. Headquarters and the day has been spent with an early wake up, the daily check of email and other online items, breakfast and other normal occurrences nothing too out of sorts. Anyways, fast forward to the evening. The wife has decided to call it an early night and now I’m left at the wheel. I’m watching games off and on of the first round of the NHL playoffs. I can’t not think about how there was a time that Saturday evenings were sort of a sacred time for those who partake in the metal. This would have been called HEADBANGER’S BALL. These days this has been reduced to a minimal online show. I’ve only been able to watch snippets of said version of the ball. I guess coming off of the 2nd anniversary of the loss of the one and only Type O Negative frontman, Mr. Steele sends this home a bit more, but I miss having such a staple to look forward to every week. Your craptacular lineup of crap has done nothing for society and I fear for the future as a result….but I regress.

On to other things, I’ve aired some of my grievances about our current location/situation a few blog entries ago. I can’t seem to shake this annoyance, but I’m not sure relocating would help right now. I resigned from the position that I once held at the awful web firm that I wasted nearly 3 years of my life on in January. I’m still pursuing freelance and am very happy/grateful to be out of that awful/shitty/unhealthy realm that the cubical of doom was set in, but find that I have a lot of grossness that really sticks in my craw about that whole situation. I should let it go and label that experience as a collection of assholes that I really didn’t have anything in common with and severe any connection to the fox news watching, mega-church attending, 40+ year old cat lady/egotistical fucks that they were/are. With this being said, you have to work many shit jobs to make it to your current shit job, the good news is that there is still beer, music and art to keep your stick on the ice.

I know that part of this entry might seem petty, immature and unprofessional to post, but it needed to come out. No specifics were named, so that should keep the lawyers at bay, right? Trust me, I’m not perfect, but the shitstorm of the past 3 years that I’ve had has made me realize that life is too short to surround myself with petty/shitty people. I just hope I can find a spot be happy in again. I’m sure they can continue their career and be very successful at being shits in general. The bottom line is that I’m moving on.

It has been some time since the last blog. Nothing too unusual I must say. Deleted Inc. has taken some trips to the homeland in the lower part of Wyoming and the rest of the time has been spent in the trenches, and by trenches I mean either in the home office or the basement. I make trips here and there to replenish supplies such as beer and Zoloft to cope with still being in Big Sky country. This will change in the more near than far off future.

Next month is the Ginger pilgrimage, i.e. Beendeleted goes to Scotland. I’m more than pumped to say the least. I think this will breathe new life into me which has been removed courtesy of the past three years. It shall be good and I’m sure that I’ll return with a better picture of Scotland rather than thinking that I’ll be running into many variations of Groundskeeper Willy from the Simpsons.

We are coming up on the 3rd anniversary of being set up in a place called Montana and thought that it might be a good time to let some of the air out the proverbial balloon. Montana, some people call it “Big Sky Country”, I call it big truck/big mustache/big church/big douche bag country. You would think after investing this much time in a place you’d find some perks/friends/something to snap the boredom? Nope, I’ve not gained zero% of zero since moving here. Granted the scenery is there, but this certainly is overshadowed by so much else. I still export my recreation to other states.

Since moving here I’ve witnessed more industry grossness than I’d like to admit and it has gotten to the point that I’d much rather clean up after the neighborhood dog than work at another “creative” firm. I’ve worked in offices that have 30 – 50 people and I’ve worked in some that had 3 – 6 people depending on the day. They both breed sick, sick behavior from most involved. If I was dealing with the other end of dog food consumption at least I would know the sick parts and the only paranoid person that I’d be dealing with would either be myself or the dog looking out the window, wondering why someone is picking up his shit. Apples and poop covered oranges?? Maybe.

I don’t think I’m alone in the view of the creative firm, here is a little article that I found earlier this week. It is pretty spot on if you ask me.

My stint at the latest “creative firm” has about done me in, but I believe that I’d be doing myself, the memory of my parents and family an injustice if I hang up the creative shovel/skates/gloves/etc.  just yet. Freelance is my focus now. No, I’m not my own company or do I ever plan to form such a thing, I’m just a dude that is freelancing. It could be design, illustration or something else art related, but that is it, I’m not looking for the creation of a space that I hate. My view of the office space is sort of like my view of my ex-goth girlfriend, a bitch that I want nothing to do with now. Don’t worry Montana, you can keep your quarter. I don’t want to play. Beendeleted Inc. is interviewing new places to call home. So please, sit down, freshen the wax on the ol’ mustache and get ready to TIVO whatever mindless cable news program you find fit and see if you can search the web to find that missing racist bumper sticker to put on your huge truck. Who knows, maybe next year at this time I’ll be talking about the pros and cons of dog shit removal.

Deleted Inc. has been stuck in a pace that could be a classified as a glacial/molasses rate. I guess you can’t win them all. I’ve been working on some projects, even with the downward spiral of production. I shall be posting those soon. Maybe it is just this time of year, but I tend to revisit my angst-filled self around this time each year. I used to think it was may age, but each year it arrives with a larger punch. Maybe I just need to up the dosage of zoloft.

Also, the first/last/annual/biannual/bicentennial /bi-curious? Vectorized contest went well on Ye Olde facebook page. A winner was proclaimed and the results shall be posted once the vectorization has been complete.

I’ve been listening to a lot of music as of late. This is a good thing. Since moving to our current location, I’ve gotten away from it. Since liberating myself from the grossness of the cubicle and previous employment I believe I’m able to think clearly again and get back into it. I might be channeling the not so late Lonn Friend.

The Beendeleted Pilgrimage has been completed for this year. The four day road trip took us not too far from headquarters, but far enough away to visit old stomping grounds, friends that I’ve not see in seven plus years and to pay our respects. Now it is back to business.
