It has been close to a year since I’ve posted anything on this portion of the website. Given the circumstances, it’s not surprising. Let me explain.
At the beginning of June this year I was experiencing massive side pains on my right side. After trying to tough it out my wife, in the voice of Borat, told me to go get it checked out. It started out innocent, blood work, ultra-sound and then a CT with contrast. They thought maybe it was nothing but each test came back a little more concerning until is was shown that I had masses on my liver and a mass in my colon. They passed me to my normal Dr. where we started to set up tests in Colorado to get this figured out. One liver biopsy and a barely successful colonoscopy later we met with the Oncologist and found out that I have Stage 4 colorectal cancer with an inoperable liver.
This has been life changing news. I’m two treatments into it and have been hospitalized twice and currently am fighting out gross infections. I’m scheduled for round 3 this coming Monday. We never asked for a prognosis or guesses of survival rate as we don’t want to know this and plan on fighting this with everything I’ve got. I come from a long line of fighters, so we shall see.
My creativity has gone in the toilet until just a few days ago. I managed to get a couple of illustrations completed.

I’m on hiatus from the day job at the moment but am hoping I can work, I’m waiting to see how round three treats me until any decisions are made, plus my boss has to be cool with it.
Everything seems surreal. I’m sometimes happy and other times I’m miserable. The spontaneous meltdown happens. Luckily I’m home bound, so that happens in private. Anyhoo, Not sure what I was trying to accomplish with this post. Maybe people still look at this site. Just wanted to scream some stuff out into the void. Cancer sucks man, but I’m going to hand it’s ass to itself. Until next time, COURAGE. And as always #FODBM
